The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility. As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".

In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c".. Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f".. This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".

Today was my first time working a nightshift, and man....I'm getting a taste of what it's like to be a dinner Chef. I started at 4pm and finished at 11.30pm. By the time I got home from the city, it was already close to 12.30am!!

I'm so exhausted from standing for more than 7 hours without a break!

I suppose this is what you could consider FINE DINING where you can rip customers off their socks with the ridiculous portions. I guess "art on a plate" doesn't come cheap. :p

Last Day

Finally, my last day of the course!

To prove to my teacher/Chef that I could definitely do much more than just reading a recipe, I decided to chuck my recipe away and come up with something of my own.

My group was in charge of the Entree menu today. We were always given a recipe to follow so that we won't be completely clueless about what to do. The other two girls from my group did a pasta dish based on the recipe they were given, but my recipe for my salad looked really crap, even the Chef said it was sh*t!

So the unlucky me had no other choice but to innovate, but I was pretty satisfied with the dish I came up with. It's not great but it's definitely one of the best things I have ever done by myself.

Today was also the most tiring day for me because my stupid dish became so popular among the customers that I kept getting more orders. It was a good thing that two other people came to help me out otherwise I would have DIED!

One table ordered 2 plates, followed by another table ordering 5 plates. There were literally 1 pot and 2 fry pans on the stove, and 7 plates on my bench at the same time! At the end of service we served about 13 plates altogether, and we actually had to cut out some of the orders because we ran out of scallops.

I'm so glad I can finally sleep in tomorrow :D

Updates from the kitchen

I'm doing the second part of my hospitality extension course, and this time there're customers involved.

Classroom 11 is actually the kitchen for one of the restaurants in the building. Hence, we are learning as we are preparing food for customers. It can get very hectic when customers are waiting for food which is not even close to ready, and the Head Chefs (teachers) are just yelling the **** out at you!

The two Chefs watching over the class have complete opposite personalities.

One of them is a real HOT-head Irish bloke who is always swearing and yelling at everyone. When customers are waiting for their food, his favourite line is "MOVE LIKE YOUR ARSES ARE ON FIRE!" . The things he says can get quite funny but when he's in a bad mood, he seriously scares the hell out of me!

The other Chef is one "cool" guy, as he NEVER ever gets to boiling point or anything close to it. Even when customers are complaining about the wait, he'll just say in the most calm (and almost gay-like) tone of voice, "Customers are getting impatient, guys. Could you please hurry a little........? " .

Today's menu was actually quite odd, and the food we made wasn't very impressive compared to the other days. Here are some pictures of the leftovers made for class analysis :

This was made by one of the groups doing main course today. Everything was made from scratch so it's obvious that it's not "machine-perfect". Their steak pie was actually really good but they screwed up the pastry on top, that's why the top of the pie looks really messed up.

My team and I did one of the Entrée items, which was basically a Roasted French Onion (Echarlot) salad with Sweet Bread, Mustard Mayonnaise and Red Wine vinegar (the plate in the middle).

The funny thing is that Sweet Bread is not actually "bread". It's actually a French term for Thymus from the throat and pancreas of cows (pretty disgusting eh?) .

I have one last week of this course, then I have my trial exams straight after. I'm so deprived of a break!

Today was my second day of this year's work placement.

I guess I'm pretty fortunate to get a place in this 5 star hotel called Quay Grand and work with them for a week. Haven't had time to explore the hotel as I've been spending the whole day in the underground kitchen (what a sad life....) .

I'm finally getting used to working in a kitchen all day. At first my biggest weakness was working with speed under pressure, but I guess I'm beginning to cope with it and still produce quality goods.

Just to give you guys an idea of what I've been doing for the past 7 days.

This is just one of the corridors. Very blur picture, but every door you see is a door to a kitchen (aka. classroom). I have no idea how many kitchens there are in this building but I'm in kitchen 8.

Basic overview of my kitchen/classroom.

Here are the 24 stoves. Just pick whichever you want to use.

Dry store. A long walkway of dry ingredients including all types of flour, spices, sugar etc. It can be a real headache when looking for specific ingredients.

Random dessert.

Here's my carrot cake, which I spent more time decorating than baking it. Those carrots are made of marzipan which is basically just sugar and almond meal, and natural colouring!

I really put in so much effort in creating my carrots. I think as long as you don't look at it up close, some might even pass for a real carrot!

I'm exhausted....!

First day of schooling~

By the time I decided to take a picture I had taken of the buttons already, I didn't bother to put them back, so here's part of my smelly uniform with no buttons

Today was my first day of my 2 week intensive cooking course. Doing absolutely nothing but hot and cold desserts. Speaking of unhealthy food, I reckon I used about 18 eggs and almost a kilogram of sugar in just one day!

While I'm supposed to be having a 2 week holiday just like everyone else, this course goes on for 2 weeks, 6 days a week, 9am-4.30pm. Coupled with the fact that I have 2 major assignments due 3rd week after I go back to school, talk about the GREAT life I'm having this month!

Back to it,

There are only 2 people from my school doing this course, an aussie girl and I. Fortunately she happens to be a really good friend of mine so we get to car pool together, but she's the one driving (this is embarrassing).

Today I learnt about CHEF LANGUAGE.

Lesson 1: Addressing a chef, Chef

The guy teaching my class is a Chef himself and doesn't like being called "Mr" or "Sir", so we either call him Chef or Simon (which is his name). It is also manners to respond every time he says something, all we do is say "Yes Chef", "yes Chef!" and "YES Chef".

Lesson 2: Everyone with a uniform is called a Chef

Everyone in the classroom is called a Chef. You call Simon a Chef, and he calls you a Chef. I still remember the conversation I had with him when I was day dreaming for a second.

Simon: Chef, what are you doing standing there waiting for a bunch of pigxies to clean up for you??!?!

Me: Sorry Chef

Simon: Keep working and don't just stand there, there're no pigxies around here!

Me: Yes Chef

Lesson 3: Learn to tolerate the Chef saying "yes"

Simon speaks with the same Chef slang you hear on some TV shows, which is saying "yes" after a statement or instruction. Example:

"Don't scrape the non-stick pan or the teflon will come off yes."

"Never run in the kitchen, BRISK WALK, BRISK WALK yes."

"Make sure all the tools go back in the toolbox yes!!!"

It got kinda annoying but I guess I'll get used to it.

Simon is a pretty cool guy and does crack a couple of lame jokes at times but I really hope I won't ever see the vulgar side of him. I managed to have a chat with him personally during the break and he was boasting about how experienced he is, "You're 17 right? I've been cooking since you were -5 years old!!"

My legs are so exhausted after standing and cooking for 7 hours straight, with only a 15 minute break and no lunch!

I reached home at 5pm, collapsed and thought to myself,

"The 'best' thing about the end of the day is that tomorrow....is just starts all over again!"

Finally something a little exciting! Almost every subject has an excursion once a year. While geography, history, and science students go to all the boring places, we music students attend a concert (it's for educational purpose, so where else could we go?)

I remember travelling as a tourist and staring at the Opera House from the outside many years ago, I finally had the opportunity to be inside it!

I must say, the Opera House is definitely a lot whiter on the postcard! If you walk up close you will find that it's more yellow-ish than white.

This was just one of the few auditoriums. If you look closely, you will see tubes in the middle of the picture. Those are actually ENORMOUS organ pipes which are used to sound some sort of bell to let everyone know that the concert is starting. Pretty cool, but I found it really annoying!

To be frank, the concert was a little boring and I fell asleep half-way through.

In the past, I used to be so enthusiastic about visiting the Opera House, but now it's only as big of a deal as you guys driving down to KL!

Party....

A close friend of mine was moving house, so she had a "moving-out party" at her place. These Aussies would seriously find every excuse to party!

I met this aussie girl who was quite pretty, and for some reason she was treating me really nicely. BUT, unfortunately, she was REALLY tall and was of course taller than me by a cpl of inches. I did get along with her pretty well, but every time I talked to her, I would ask myself, "why do I even bother trying?? lol" .

Later, I then found myself joining a group of 3 white chicks in a convo. It felt kinda weird since I didn't really know them, then all of a sudden one of them popped the MOST awkward question ever! She just randomly asked, "So....how's your penis?". That was definitely the most awkward conversation I've ever had but I guess I have to keep an open mind all the time.

Other than that, the party was pretty boring. The thing I despise most about the Aussie culture is the tradition of wearing your shoes inside the house. Everyone's shoes were wet and dirty from the pool water and we even walked in her carpeted room with our filthy shoes.

If I EVER host a gathering/party at my place, I would leave a big signboard outside my house - TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF, YOU DIRTY WHITE!

Time is reaalllyy scaryy.. Look how fast it moves... not long ago i was starting work, and now i'm going off to ''national service''....

I gained plenty of priceless experience in my time working in ''MPH'-bookstore''.
..i see all types of customers... i see all kinds of issues in the store itself... and i realize how hard is it to earn money.....

The best part of my working-time is definetly during the over-night to set up the book-fair.
How often do you get the chance to dominate the shopping mall.???. ohh and one thing i can let you know.... there are cockroaches everywhere in the shopping mall when the lights are down. Especially McDonald.!!!!!

These 2 guitars were my final sale. For some reason I just love the colour RED a lot.

One of my customers didn't trust the post office so he and his wife drove 45 minutes to my place to collect his purchase. The couple were a little shocked to see this little Asian kid selling to them (I felt kinda weird as well) , but they paid in cash! So that saved me some tax.

Though I'm not exactly making BIG money from this business, I really enjoy doing it but my mom wouldn't let me continue as she wants me to focus on my studies. Oh well...

Hello! it seems everyone is really busy with their life right now...yew n andy has to work...me and deep goes to ~~skool~~ college...and kevin is doin god knows wad...so here i am...about to whine about how much stress it is that our SPM results are about to be announced...u noe...i wasn't THAT scared until juz now, when i just realised that our SPM results are about to come out...haha...it's crazy because there is people all around me complaining abt it...but i didn't notice until juz now...i suck dun i?

Few things happened these few days...i failed my driving test last week...but i passed this week...pretty excited...gonna go all GILA STERING!!!!!so yea...cuz u see i'm a febuary baby...i'm SUPPOSED to get my license quite early...but due to some inconvenient (my dad)...i had to wait a whole freaking year!!!!so...TOYOTA UNSER HERE I COME!!!!!

So back to the whole SPM results thing...are u scared??I'm freaking out right now cuz Shan Chen juz asked me whether i'm scared...Damm you Shan Chen...

me to work...

oh my.... it's 3 weeks into the year 2010 already. So fast the time flies. In another 3 weeks time, it'll be ''GoNg Xi Fa Cai''.!!!! So far my life aren't that 'hyper' yet la. I'm currently working at MPH subang parade now. Cashier-cum-customer service assistant boy. Plenty of work and responsible but super low pay. Oh well... i'm working for experience anyway.hehe. Despite me enjoying working, i failed my driving test.haihhzz...

Damm saddening la.. in the part one of the test, where we have to do the slope, parking, and 3 point turn. I was well prepared but still failed at slope. I know what i did wrong and it won't happened again. (my next test is the coming monday). And in the part two of the test, ''on the road'', i wass freaking pissed off at the tester. Bladdy corrupted asshole. He made it so obvious that he want me to bribe him. I have proof for this....

1st... the bonus 5 points in doing the car mirror and etc etc... i did all and he gave me 2/5.

i actually wanna ask what the f*#$ is wrong with him, but i duwan to get beaten up in a stupid small kancil. =.=

2nd... he purposely step on the brake at his side to make me mati enjin. I dun even have time to step finish the damm clutch. The reason from that asshole was... my car was moving to fast.

And the truth is... i was in gear 2 and moving at the speed of around 30km/h. The car infront of me is at a distance of two dheepan's crv car. Bladdy shit tester. Now i have to bribe the next time i take the test. If this country is gonna ever be corruption free, those tester must be questioned 1st. Besides... i drove really well and i'm not talking cock.

It's really fun working in the bookstore like what andy said. My colleagues are from different races.. very MUHIBAH. My superiors/executives are also very nice and friendly. So far so good la for me. Next month i comment again. XD

*SIGH*... now everyday i see school kids behind my house. Not those in the lorong smoking, but those who go to school and going back home. It really brought back fond memories to me. Honestly i miss schooling life. I know many friends of mine are now studying.. Some in SunwayCollege, a few in INTIcollege, and MOST in Taylor'sCollege. I miss my friends la..

Lesson 5

A turkey was chatting with a bull.

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree.

Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree.

He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Moral of the story:
Bull Shit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there..

Lesson 6

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.

While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.

As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.

The dung was actually thawing him out!

He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.

Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story:
(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.

(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your

Just to share about my trip to Penang a few days ago.
After a scrumptious dinner at a place called "End of the world" with my uncle, we decided to pay this new hotel a visit. Nothing very much to say about it since I've never spent a night there, but it's apparently RM1000++ a night in this luxurious hotel.

What caught my eye was the gallery of rock icons.

Don't know who these guys are but I'm guessing they must be dead already.

The passengers on the bus watched sympathetically as a young woman with the white cane made her way carefully up the steps. She paid the driver and, using her hands to feel the location of the seats, walked down the aisle and found the seat he had told her was empty. Then she settled in, placed her briefcase on her lap and rested her cane against her leg.

It had been a year since Misha, thirty-four, became blind. Due to a medical misdiagnosis she had been rendered sightless, and she was suddenly thrown into a world of darkness, anger, frustration and self-pity. Once a fiercely independent woman, Misha now felt condemned by this terrible twist of fate to become a powerless, helpless burden on everyone around her.

"How could this have happened to me?" she would plead, her heart knotted with anger. But no matter how much she cried or ranted, she knew the painful truth her sight was never going to return. A cloud of depression hung over Misha's once optimistic spirit. Just getting through each day was an exercise in frustration and exhaustion. And all she had to cling to was her husband Malik.

Malik was an Air Force officer and he loved Misha with all of his heart. When she first lost her sight, he watched her sink into despair and was determined to help his wife gain the strength and confidence she needed to become independent again. Malik's military background had trained him well to deal with sensitive situations, and yet he knew this was the most difficult battle he would ever face.

Finally, Misha felt ready to return to her job, but how would she get there? She used to take the bus, but was now too frightened to get around the city by herself. Malik volunteered to drive her to work each day, even though they worked at opposite ends of the city.

At first, this comforted Misha and fulfilled Malik's need to protect his sightless wife who was so insecure about performing the slightest task. Soon, however, Malik realized that this arrangement was not working - it was hectic, and costly. Misha is going to have to start taking the bus again, he admitted to himself. But just the thought of mentioning it to her made him cringe. She was still so fragile, so angry. How would she react?

Just as Malik predicted, Misha was horrified at the idea of taking the bus again. "I am blind!" she responded bitterly. "How am I supposed to know where I am going? I feel like you are abandoning me."

Malik's heart broke to hear these words, but he knew what had to be done. Malik promised Misha that each morning and evening he would ride the bus with her, for as long as it took, until she got the hang of it. And that is exactly what happened. For two solid weeks, Malik, military uniform and all, accompanied Misha to and from work each day. Malik taught her how to rely on her other senses, specifically her hearing, to determine where she was and how to adapt to her new environment.

Malik helped her befriend the bus drivers who could watch out for her and save her a seat. Malik made her laugh, even on those not-so-good days when she would trip exiting the bus or drop her briefcase. Each morning they made the journey together and Malik would take a cab back to his office. Although this routine was even more costly and exhausting than the previous one, Malik knew it was only a matter of time before Misha would be able to ride the bus on her own. Malik believed in her, in the Misha he used to know before she would lost her sight, who was not afraid of any challenge and who would never, ever quit.

Finally, Misha decided that she was ready to try the trip on her own. Monday morning arrived, and before she left, she threw her arms around Malik, her temporary bus riding companion, her husband, and her best friend. Her eyes filled with tears of gratitude for his loyalty, his patience, his love. Misha said good-bye, and for the first time, they went their separate ways.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday... Each day on her own went perfectly and Misha had never felt better. Misha was doing it! She was going to work all by herself!

On Friday morning, Misha took the bus to work as usual. As she was paying for her fare to exit the bus, the driver said, "Sister, I sure envy you."

Misha was not sure if the driver was speaking to her or not. After all, who on earth would ever envy a blind woman who had struggled just to find the courage to live for the past year? Curious, she asked the driver, "Why do you say that you envy me?"

The driver responded, "It must feel so good to be taken care of and protected like you are."

Misha had no idea what the driver was talking about, and asked again, "What do you mean?"

The driver answered, "You know, every morning for the past week, a fine looking gentleman in a military uniform has been standing across the corner watching you when you get off the bus. He makes sure you cross the street safely and he watches you until you enter your office building. Then he blows you a kiss, gives you a little salute and walks away. You are one lucky woman."

Tears of happiness poured down Misha's cheeks. For although she could not physically see him, she had always felt Malik's presence. Misha was lucky, so lucky, for he had given her a gift more powerful than sight, a gift she did not need to see to believe - Gift of Love that can bring light where there had been darkness ...

I have applied for a job in so many places that I've finally given up looking for one. Finally, after being inspired by my dad and a few articles on the internet, I decided to start doing business!

I would purchase guitars (since I know quite a lot about them) on auctions and sell them for a profit on ebay.

With a small interest-free loan from my parents + some savings, I was able to purchase some stock. Since I had a very small capital, I could only afford a few guitars, these guitars aren't cheap!

"Brand new or not brand new, just give it a nice polish with guitar gloss, replace the strings if required, and it's ready to reach the customers!"

And finally my 19-year-old guitar with very nice, vintage aged wood which I have been using for about 2 years, was sold to Mr McClelland just yesterday! Felt a little emotional about selling it but I got a pretty good price for it. Oh well...

The biggest pleasure in doing this business is that I get to "test-drive" every guitar I purchase before I sell it. Though there is always the temptation to keep them for myself! haha...Until I finish selling all my stock, I'm pretty broke at the moment. It seemed like I took a pretty big risk in starting this "business" since I've spent quite a bit on it. I could either make good money doing this or become a cpl of hundred $$$ poorer for nothing!

Anyway, isn't doing business all about taking risk?!
It probably makes life a little more exciting to me as well.

Haven't been cooking in a while, and since it was my sister's birthday, I decided to make the family dinner to both save money (from eating out) and to actually do something productive during my school holidays. Here's something simple I came out with.. Didn't look as good as I imagined it to be but still edible!

Entree - Bruschetta topped with mushroom and onion cream sauce

Main course - Grilled duck breast with sweet potato puree and baby spinach, topped with red wine gravy (I cooked the flour a little too long so the gravy turned brown instead of being purplish-red)

Birthday cake - Rich white chocolate cake topped with almonds baked by my younger sis (That was one of the coolest set of candles I have ever seen. Just light one candle and the rest of the candles will light themselves!)

EUKUBA NIGHT

As today was the last day of school for the Year 12 students, there was a farewell dinner held in the school hall. Eventhough it was held in school, it was quite a formal night and each Year 12 student came with their parents.

About 13 Year 11 students who are studying hospitality including me volunteered to assist in the catering for the night. Actually we were pretty much forced to help out since catering is quite relevant to our subject/course. To cut it short, we were the waiters/waitresses of the night along with a number of professionals. The tasks didn't really seem that hard BUT it's a different story when you're serving 520 guests!

Life would have been so much easier if we were serving the same dishes to everyone as we were serving a full course meal (entree, main course, dessert), however, it's a typical western catering tradition where 2 different full course meals are served. And to make things worse, we had a couple of vegetarians who needed to be served a completely different full course meal.

For starters, we served 2 different dishes which was either chicken caesar salad or thai beef salad. AND, for the vegetarians it was some glass noodle salad..

For the main course, we had either roast chicken with tomato puree or roast beef with brown gravy. Vegetarians had something else.

Since there were 2 choices for both the entree and main course (excluding vegetarians), we were asked to place plates alternately, eg. beef, chicken, beef, chicken...Should there be any request to choose what was served, we were briefed to simply answer, "I'm sorry Sir/Ma'am but would you mind swapping plates with someone else within the same table".

However, there was one nasty bugger who really pissed me off! After serving him the roast beef, he demanded roast chicken instead.

Me: I'm sorry sir but would you mind swapping...
Him: No I want the chicken!
Me: But sir, I can't serve....
Him: Give me the chicken!
Me: It's....
Him: I WANT THE CHICKEN!!

Then I had to get the manager to come settle it with him. Jeeez..some people just love making life miserable for everyone. It got really hectic when people starting swapping and walking around. Since we could only carry 2 plates at a time or at most 3, serving everyone seemed like forever! Coupled with the fact that everyone was blocking our way and at some point we couldn't tell which table we hadn't serve yet. I got so frustrated I just felt like yelling, WHY WON'T YOU PEOPLE F***ING SIT DOWN!! By the time we finished serving the 500th guest, the first 100 had finished their main course and we had to clear the tables for the next dish.

Also, only about 5% of the guest I served actually said thank you as I served them. For those of you who quickly get impatient with waiters/waitresses, it doesn't hurt to say thank you once you are served, it can really brighten someone's day.. =]

This really showed how open minded Aussies are. The 3 guys on the stage were doing a sketch on entering a woman's vagina. Pretty disgusting but everyone enjoyed it!

During the breaks, we had some of the extras for dinner. The food was EXTREMELY good!! especially the Thai beef salad..gotta learn how to make that!

Finally, when the night ended, it was time to clean up..Finished about 10.30pm. Thank goodness most of us aren't going to school tomorrow. It was a very exhausting night but I somehow liked the experience anyway. Managed to become good friends with some of the professional waiters/waitresses and they taught me a couple of new skills. Here's one of them which I started practicing as soon as I got home..

Hold the base of the plate with the first three fingers spread-out, leaving the pinky and thumb lying on the edge of the plate.

Using your bottom palm, pinky and part of your wrist as support, place another plate on top of it.

Of course it's alot easier to do it with an empty plate. It's alot harder when you're carrying it with food or a 100 dollar steak on top it! Somehow I always have the fear of dropping everything on the people I'm serving.

BIG EXO DAY 09
Last saturday I tagged along with a bunch of church youth for a day trip in this EXO DAY event. It's something like a Christian conference/event held every year, and this year it was held in Sydney so it was pretty convenient for us Sydney-ians. My church youth rented a mini-bus to drive all of us to our destination. Surprisingly, I was the ONLY asian in the whole group. Felt kinda awkward at first but it was okay..As usual it came down to the "Oh you're from Malaysia?? but you speak fluent english/your english is good!" . Seriously..Walau-wei...Where did the perception that Malaysians can't speak english come from?!

During the day it was more of a big carnival, with stalls selling everything from clothes (including JESUS shirts) to unhealthy food. I ended up spending most of the day with this Aussie chick I met, who is a year older than me (guys in general: who cares?!) and her name was Bianca as well. She's the second person I know in the whole world with that name. I was the only one who wanted to go for a ride with her (it was similar to the Toma-hawk ride in S. Lagoon) so we were lining up in the hot sun for an hour just for a ridiculous ride! At least we managed to have an odd yet decent conversation. Then there were several sub-stadiums, each with different performances ranging from Rap, Metal, rock and pop, all at the same time! So everyone was pretty much pre-occupied.

Also, one of the guys in my group (prob about mid 20s) saw a really hot chick (to him) selling $10 shirts. So he decided to buy a shirt just to find an excuse to talk to her. He was really disappointed at the end and he was like "Man..it cost me 10bucks to talk to that chick, and I didn't even get her number!!". Then he gave the shirt to someone else.

And throughout the day trip, I was trying to spot as many asians as I could because the ratio of Asians to Whites was probably 1:1000! Didn't know where our beloved asians disappeared to!

At night was a HUGE conference in a MASSIVE football field, and a congregation of approximately 10,000 people. First it was a bunch of black dudes rapping (I didn't really like it though). Then was the usual Praise and Worship but the music was really LOUD. After that, some famous Big fat black guy by the name of Reggae something played a song as a tribute to Michael Jackson on his saxophone, followed by his short sermon. He was pretty good though.

He's huge for a human being!

Last but not least was Relient K!! To be honest I never really knew who they were, I was like "Reliance..who..??". Anyway, they're a band from the US and seem to be quite popular lately. Here's a short clip of them. To be honest (again), I think they sounded pretty shit live...

DUST STORM

For those of you who have not been following the news recently, here's something which happened for the first time in history! There was a massive brown dust storm which covered the whole of New South Wales and part of Brisbane.
When I went to take a leak early yesterday morning, I looked out the window and everything was RED and so was the sky. The first thing that came to my mind was, "LOL..it's the Armageddon or the end of the world! or I must be living in Mars..". Then I went back to sleep....Here are some pictures. This is no joke! It happened like yesterday or 2 days ago!

I thought it was a dream but I looked around and found that EVERY car and shoes in the state were brown! Even some dogs turned brown! The news also announced that there has been a BOOM in the car wash industry. Hundreds and hundreds of cars are lining up to get their cars washed. (My mom's probably gonna get me to wash her car).

MUSIC NIGHT

This was a night where musicians gathered to perform. Parents, and everyone else were welcomed to spectate. My friends and I decided we should play a mexican/spanish/flamenco song, so I suggested Diablo Rojo and then improvise from there since we didn't have much time (this decision was made only 5 days ago!). So this is our last-minute performance by the four of us..

SUSPENDED

This is just something really short to share, don't know if any of you would find it funny but I sure did! No pictures though...

A classmate of mine has been suspended from school for a week. I was just chatting with his friends today and they told me what they thought happened..Apparently, he had a really big quarrel with a teacher of his and since he hated that teacher so much, he decided to take a DUMP on the teacher's desk in one of the classrooms during lunch break. Bad luck, he was caught! It was pretty obvious it was him-had a massive quarrel with the teacher, teacher saw him walk out of the classroom just as she was about to enter, entered the classroom and found a pile of shit on her desk! It's a pretty serious issue but it was really fun laughing about it!

LIFE IN A KITCHEN

This post covers 5 days of my "culinary adventure" so it's gonna be a long one.

One of the requirements to complete this course/subject I'm doing in school is to have at least 35 hours of work experience. So in this term, all of us doing this subject would have arrangements to work in a commercial kitchen for 5 days, which also means missing 1 week of school. However, the teacher has to consider your knowledge, commitment, and skills over the whole 2 terms before deciding on a suitable workplace. I guess I've been working pretty hard and have always been on my teacher's good side so I got a pretty fancy workplace. As for the less passionate, can't-be-bothered students, she put them in Cafes.

I got to work in a large, fancy banquet called Doltone House. http://www.doltonehouse.com.au/

The only downside was that it was probably one of the furthest workplace in my class. It's deeeeep in the city...and it took me almost an hour to get to work everyday!

Hello.!! there was a basketball tournament held in my school around 3 weeks ago..
And it ended today, due to matches postponed. As a basketball player, of course i'm very eager to play and to participate. . =D

Here's my teammates.!! (^.^)

I have to admit, despite it's the first time we play together as a team, we do have our own chemistry of play, we blended well together and also enjoy our game.

On the first day of tourney, we manage to top the group, beating two of our opponents..

Unfortunately, things changed in the semis.. we lost.!! it was a bad lost but a good game to remember, we were leading in first half but totally lost focus in the 2nd-half, then we lost the game.!

But like what people usually says, in a competition, there's always win and lose.! :)

and like what i told my teammates, ''we win as a team, and lose as a team'' !!.

....our final match which was the 3rd and 4th placing, did not end well too... it was a tactical mistake i made, and it ruin everything. I accept the lost because i just want the match to be a friendly and relax one. Hopefully my other teammates thinks the same too...

Eventough we lost,

MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE..........?

I've been wanting to blog about this for some time but have been caught up with heaps of work. Anyway, last tuesday I heard from a friend of mine that a guy in my year by the name of Michal went missing all of a sudden. From what I heard, Michal told his family he would be going to Roseville Station (I catch a train and pass that station at least 3 times a week!) at night, but he never came back.

Later on, I was reading Monday's news (I think) on the internet with my friends, and there was an article about a man who was found dead on the train tracks near Roseville Station.

On Wednesday, everyone seemed "extra quiet" and everyone who hangs out at D block was completely silent. Later did I know that the 2 guys were actually the same person.....

MICHAL MRAZ from my year, commited suacide the night he left his house. His corpse was found on the train tracks, crushed by the train. No one would have expected this to come from a cheerful and happy guy like him. I do know his twin brother, Stefan though, and he has been absent from school ever since, I feel so sorry for him. Although I don't actually know Michal, it's an odd feeling when you've been seeing him almost everyday, and suddenly you don't EVER see him again....

I actually got goosebumps when I took his photo to put it in this post!

A NEW HOME

To start off, I have been renting a renovated 50 year old house since I arrived here. It's not that bad, but you can't exactly expect a 50 year old house to be in good shape, let alone all the house issues.

I've been following my mom around to look at houses for sale, we've probably seen 20-30 already! Finally this came up, after months of searching!
It's a really old and rundown house. Definitely more than 20 years old. Looks alright from the outside but the inside looks like a dump! Just by looking at the Laundry Room, it's possible that this house was built even before the washing machine was invented! Anyway, since it's got a decent land size, the house would probably be rebuilt from scratch. Hopefully I can move in before winter next year.

Where's Justice.!!!!??? there is 500000 students of the year 1992 in Malaysia, 120000 were selected randomly for National Service, there are 5 members of DACKY (exception for aussie boy though), and ONLY calson and me got chosen.????? i never know i was sooo lucky. . .

Honestly, i'm not sad that i'm selected, but just that if i go, there will be a whole lot of changes to myself when i return.

Boooo~! It's been a long time since I've posted anything =X mainly coz im too lazy and i got nothing to blog about
Watched Blood: The Last Vampire today because someone wanted to watch it so badly =.=!! it wasn't that nice... and the effects are crap...

all movies that are based on some anime never turn out nice for example dragon ball.. that was crap..

Hello everyone!!!! I went to Thailand last week but was too damn lazy to update...but here i am, updating....hmm...ok...here goes!!!!

I boarded AirAsia to Thailand, the plane took off around 5...so i reached Bangkok at 6, cuz Thailand is later than us by 1 hour...1st thing i found after landing was:
